É tempo de fuga, e só a Cidadela de Solus pode oferecer protecção suficiente!		Book 2, chapter 5 There's no relief in the arrival to Damar. They must warn the Governor Morga, and eveyone else, so they too can flee from the coming danger. And only the Citadel of Solus can offer sure protection!
Não foi segredo, a chegada de centenas. Sinos e trompas já soavam, pois desde o assalto dos jovens Kundali aos cereais, o Governador esmerara a vigilância do deserto, por onde milícia patrulhava, sempre aos pares, dia e noite. Foram pois duas linhas de homens, de lanças e arcos, que esperaram os fugitivos, entre searas e muralha. Na frente da defesa estava o meirinho, Rulo, de elmo embuçado, onde apenas a encaracolada barba negra espreitava. O linotorax assentava-lhe mal, sem dúvida pela falta de uso e hábito, porém, com ar valente, liderava a milícia, e na mão empunhava spatha, já desembainhada, insegura no baloiço. Ao ver a massa de Kundali irromper por campos de milho, um único grito rouco bastou-lhe, para que homens apontassem as compridas lanças, e arqueiros puxassem flecha, pronta ao tiro. Assim ameaçaram, os duzentos aspis pintados a verde, onde o ramalhete de espigas amarelas mostrava armas do Kadah.		The arrival of snake-people was noticed soon. He shouted but once, upon seeing the many Kundali that crossed the cornfields, and his men answered promptly, by aiming the long spears, by cocking arrows in each bow. So they threatened, the two hundred green painted aspis , showing clear the arms of the Kadah; the sheaf of yellow stalks.
