Quando a subida revelou horizonte sobre rocha, já tons avermelhados do sol poente enchiam o céu, escurecendo os montes, que cresciam até ao leito do Rio Dário, abundantes em pés de vinha, cuidadosamente plantados em linhas, sustentada a terra por pedra, de muros e levadas, por onde a água do rio corria todo o ano. O longo percurso, que passava por duas torres de vigília e muralha baixa, passou-o Calipso, em fascínio, admirando o laranja que se refletia nas videiras, quais línguas de dragão, riscando os montes até onde a vista alcançava.		When the path ascended again and revealed horizon above rock, already the red hues of sunset filled the sky. The darkened hills stretched until the River Dário’s margin, plenty with vineyards carefully planted and lined. The earth was held by stone; walls and aqueducts where fresh water always ran. The long path went between two watch-towers, along a low wall, with Calipso’s gaze lost in the orange reflected upon vines, like dragon tongues scratching the hills beyond sight. She was fascinated, twisted upon saddle, charmed by such scenery.
